Production Supervisor
Summary
The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to lead and oversee shift operations onsite, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement. This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in batch processing, production management, and team development.
Essential Functions

- Leadership & Team Development: Supervise, mentor, and develop production employees, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operating procedures, and quality standards. Conduct 30-60-90-day evaluations, facilitate training, and drive employee engagement and performance improvement.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all safety, environmental, and compliance regulations are met in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies. Conduct safety talks, incident reviews, and risk assessments to maintain a safe work environment.
- Production Oversight & Optimization: Monitor batch operations and chemical production processes to ensure efficiency, quality control, and adherence to production schedules. Identify and troubleshoot process inefficiencies using root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Process & Quality Control: Conduct audits, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, logistics, customer service, and finance to ensure seamless operations. Implement process improvements and drive operational excellence.
- Shift Management & Communication: Lead shift handoffs and ensure seamless communication between teams. Work closely with maintenance and production staff to address any operational challenges.

- Knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, industrial production, and process optimization preferred
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM), ISO 9001 standards, and OSHA compliance
- Strong technical proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to analyze production data, identify process inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in batch chemical processing or manufacturing operations
Skills Required
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to lead crews and improve performance.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, DCS/PLC, etc.).
- Knowledge/experience with process/mechanical equipment, DCS / PLC systems, piping, material handling equipment, heavy equipment etc.
- Math skills (inc. weights, measures and conversions).
- Process troubleshooting skill.
Knowledge of OSHA/PSM, EPA, and other applicable codes and standards.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Salary: $115,000 to $120,000
