Job Summary:

 

Polynt is a global chemical manufacturer with headquarters in Italy. The Purchasing and Logistic Manager is responsible for leading and managing the company's Supply Chain operations, including sourcing, purchasing, logistics, and inventory management. This position requires strategic thinking, effective communication, and leadership skills to ensure the efficient and cost-effective procurement and distribution of goods.

Primary Accountabilities/Functions:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing and logistics team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Set performance targets and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Manage and implement strategic plans for purchasing and logistics that align with the company’s business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to forecast supply and demand and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Oversee the procurement process to ensure goods and services are sourced at the best possible terms.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms.
  • Develop inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize costs.
  • Keep track and manage inventory levels, ensuring product availability.
  • Monitor and analyze costs to ensure budgetary goals are met.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to drive efficiency.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of the purchasing and logistics functions.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to senior and corporate management.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing & Logistics Director or in a similar senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams attaining cross-functional consensus.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels – clearly articulate position with clarity at all levels of the organization.
