Job Summary:

The Process Technician’s primary focus is to operate reactors.  The duties include, but are not limited to, all phases of batch processing and packaging. This includes material staging, material charging, product sampling, and maintaining control of reactors both manually and through the control system.  The process technician will perform all required SAP functions in a timely manner. This individual must possess good interpersonal, communication, problem solving, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. The process technician will work collaboratively with others on shift and with Supervision/Management to safely and efficiently operate the reactor areas to create the production as scheduled. 

The Process Technician must have a firm commitment to safety, the environment and must have the understanding that product quality is critical to our customers.  Process Technicians will maintain all required SOP’s, regulatory training and abide by all Federal, State and local agencies regulations.  Operators must have a “Right the first time” attitude to reduce hazardous waste, off-spec material and unnecessary costs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Knowledge and Skills:.

  • Demonstrated ability and desire to prioritize Customers’ and EHS requirements.
  • Preference for working collaboratively with others
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills to convey and understand important information and ideas
  • Computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office applications, etc.).
  • Knowledge/experience with process & mechanical equipment, instrumentation, process control systems, piping, material handling equipment, heavy equipment etc.
  • Good basic math skills (inc. weights, measures and conversions).
  • Process troubleshooting skills
  • Willingness and interest to continually learn and improve

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in an outside environment, climb stairs, wear a full-face respirator, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.  Involves sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, kneeling.

 

 

 

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent at minimum.  Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
