JOB SUMMARY:
Polynt Composites is one of the world's largest suppliers of unsaturated polyester resins for composites and a leading supplier of coating resins for a wide variety of markets and applications. Our chemical manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, Florida is currently recruiting for an entry level production operator. The selected candidate must pass a 90-day probationary period during which time they must successfully demonstrate their work performance regarding safety, productivity, quality, and dependability to secure permanent full-time employment. Duties and Responsibilities:
The driver/helper position is the entry level into chemical plant operations at the Jacksonville Polynt site. The requirements of the position include working with assorted chemicals (acids, bases, anhydrides, glycols, etc.) in both liquid and powder form; therefore, the ability to wear personal protective equipment (respirators, hard hats, eye protection, gloves) is a job requirement. In addition to operating forklifts other job skills include the ability to drive a yard truck to position bulk trailers for loading, operating pumps and drumming equipment, opening and closing valves,
Driver/helpers spend a significant amount of their time at work filling drums, totes, and bulk trailers with liquid resin or supporting reactor and material blending operators. The support will include staging both dry and liquid materials in drums and supersacks for addition to reactors and blend tanks. To accomplish this a driver/helper must be able to operate speciality hoists and work around and with heavy packaged or drummed material.
The filling of containers requires the ability to use computers, digital control systems, and speciality software for printing labels or shipping papers. DOT certification is required.

1.0 Purpose:
The purpose of the SOP is to define the job responsibilities of the Driver/Helpers in the Jacksonville plant.
2.0 Process Description and Equipment Detail:
This applies to all DRIVER/HELPERS in the Jacksonville plant. The duties described are of a generalized nature and not all inclusive.
- DRIVER/HELPER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The driver/helpers are accountable to and report to the Production Supervisor on all day-to-day operations to include but not limited to the following:

- Driver/helpers are responsible for truck weigh scale operations (SOP 7905), Trailer preparation and loading for shipping (bulk) (SOP 7910) and safe Turberg operations (SOP 7906)

- Driver/helpers must promptly weigh out tank trailers and review and sign Bills of Lading.

- It is the Driver/Helpers responsibility to ensure all requirements of the sales order/bill of lading are met (example: weight limitations, samples, color slugs, labels, etc.) Paperwork.

- Ensure B-3 tag, Certificate of Analysis, weight ticket and Bill of Lading all match tank trailer, customer, product code and batch number. Paperwork.

- Driver/Helpers must be able to retrieve raw materials from warehouse #36 and warehouse #2 to fulfil production needs. Oldest materials must be brought up first to keep inventories current.

- Driver/Helpers must be able to drum finished product from T-11 (SOP 7420) and load tank trailers from reactor deck (SOP 7910) as required. They also must be able to drum from drumming station and truck loading station as required (SOP 7420 and 7910 respectively) Drumming.

- Driver/Helpers are required to keep their working areas clean, neat and in an orderly fashion. Housekeeping.

- Driver/Helpers must have knowledge of placarding requirements for placarding trailers and totes and complete DOT certification (49CFR). Regs.

- Driver/Helpers must be able to pull samples from drums and tank trucks when necessary for shipment or rechecking by quality lab technicians. Drumming/Toting – Bulk Loading

- Driver/Helpers must be able to offload base resin from tank trailers to base storage tanks as required and pump off base resin to blend tanks when required. Bulk Loading

- Driver/Helpers are responsible for spotting empty box trailers at rear dock of warehouse #7 for loading by shipping personnel. AT NO TIME ARE BOX TRAILERS TO GO ON SCALE WITHOUT SPECIFIC AUTHORIZATION.

- This SOP will be reviewed whenever there is a changed to the system but at least annually by the individuals approving this SOP to assure that the procedure accurately reflects the current practices of the facility
