The plant chemical operator is responsible for understanding and carrying out instructions which include but are not limited to staging, charging reactors and testing product, as well as, all computer and hand written documentation required for these tasks, while maintaining process equipment in proper working order. The chemical operator must work safely, efficiently and in accordance with company policies and procedures and the collective bargaining agreement. The chemical operator will work as directed by the Production Supervisor and Management. |
Estimated Duties and Responsibilities:
Staging and charging of raw materials to reactors, perform in process testing, and completion of all associated documentation |

Loading finished product into tank trucks, drums, totes and other packaging |

Accurately weighing and recording material charges and times on documents and in database |

Support plant EHS, Maintenance ad Utility personnel as directed by management, may require:

Use Distributive Control System (DCS) to run batches and increase production efficiency |

Take an active role in housekeeping requirements of the building/plant. |

Knowledge and Skills: Specialized knowledge and skills needed to perform the job.
Understanding of process equipment regarding function and assist maintenance in feedback to maintain the equipment. Demonstrate a level of mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Math skills (inc. weights, measures and conversions). Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Computer skills (DCS, SAP, Microsoft Office, etc.) Ability to lift 55lb. bags, work outdoors, sit, stand, squatting, climb ladders and follow all Personal Protective Equipment guidelines. Operate a forklift. |
Education: Education, licenses, certifications or degrees needed to perform the job.
High School diploma or equivalent. 5 years of related work experience |
